I hear the grille ALONE costs five grand on this. Five grand! Do you have five grand? I don’t have five grand!
Always loved these cars, even with their guarantees of being a money pit. These things still bring healthy prices, especially compared to their sedan brethren. Provenance will only help

Breathe deep the gathering gloom,
Watch lights fade from every room.

Just think of it as a $18,500 open-aired 8-track player and it makes more sense.

If it was actually 18K, I’d scrounge up the money and buy it right now. I predict maybe 60- 70K-ish for this, or more if someone goes nuts about the prior owner. Definitely needs “The Night” or “Tuesday Afternoon”

Yep, no question that’s where this should end up. Ha it does come with an 8-track of Days of Future Passed:

Love it. Lovely car even without the history. I’ve always admired the look of these, even with the top up, such proportions. And as I was a kid in the 80s, they still have an exotic mystique, as they were insanely expensive when new. Being featured in a classic 80s movie in a not too distant color doesn’t hurt, either:

Yeah they were the perfect car for your home in the South of France.
The classic 80s movie I remember it from is Dirty Rotten Scoundrels :

I think it’s worth more because of the 8-track player.

At least a good $5-10K more.
